How
to Use Tichenor Families in America
Large genealogies
are often hard to follow. I chose a method that provides an index for
every Tichenor descendant on the page where his/her name appears. Despite
this, several times people have told me that they cannot understand
it, therefore, I make this explanation:
- Find
your name in the index and turn to the page having your name.
- Look
at names that appear in one or two columns at the top of the page.
All of those persons are your ancestors. The one with the generation
number one (superscripted by the name) is the earliest ancestor of
your line that I was able to discover. All the others listed are his
descendants. The generation numbers tell you who is the parent of
whom.
- The
names of the children of the next generation are listed horizontally
in one or more lines (such as is required to list them). One or more
of the names are in bold print, one of whom is your ancestor.
- Find
your name in the text below and follow your ancestors up to the one
named in bold print.
- To see
the sketch on any of the ancestors listed at the top of the page,
simply turn to the page that appears by his name. When you look at
that page you will find your remaining ancestors listed and indexed.
